Logos floating book fair returns to Jamaica January
Logos Hope offers more than books and features a fully air conditioned deck that is open to the public to explore. From the Welcome Experience, which introduces the new vessel through a short movie and various displays, to the International Café’s ice cream, drinks and snacks there is sure to be something for everyone to enjoy.
Logos Hope also brings an expanded selection of over 7,500 books that covers a range of subjects including science, sports, hobbies and religion. With children’s titles, academic texts, dictionaries, atlases and more, there is something for all the family to choose from.
Logos Hope will visit both Montego Bay and Kingston in this first ever visit to Jamaica . Logos Hope will be open to the public in Freeport, Montego Bay from January 21 to February 14, 2010 and at Caribbean Cement Company Pier at Rockfort, Kingston from 17 February to 22 March, 2010.
The all-volunteer crew and staff comprise of around 400 people representing 45 different nations who offer a unique example of unity in cultural diversity. Logos Hope is operated by the international charity OM Ships International.
In almost 40 years of service, the organisation has welcomed 40 million visitors up the gangways in over 150 countries and territories around the world.
Digicel reports over 163% growth in Facebook fans in 30 days
With over 18,000 fans, the company’s fan page continues to increase through constant interactions and exciting giveaways
Over the past month, Digicel Jamaica has been engaging Facebook fans through constant interactions and exciting giveaways, resulting in a record growth of over 18,000 fans to date on the company’s Fan Page. Fans have been treated to giveaways such as BlackBerry 8900, Samsung i900, Nokia E63 and BlackBerry 8520, plus one-year pre-paid BlackBerry service for each BlackBerry winner and thousands of dollars in credit giveaways. Digicel also treated its Facebook fans with giveaways of 100 tickets to 50 fans to attend the recently held Shaggy & Friends Concert.
Digicel’s Head of Marketing, Donavan White, comments that the company is pleased with the rate of growth they have seen so far on its fan page. “Our fan base is now at a little over 18,000 fans and we expect to see more growth as we continue to engage our fans and treat them to exciting giveaways.
