Tiger Woods strips to the waist and flexes some muscle
Tiger Woods appears on the front of Vanity Fair, out on January 12, stripped to the waist and flexing his muscles.

Tiger Woods strips to the waist and flexes some muscle

Tiger Woods may still be in hiding since being engulfed by his alleged string of affairs, but readers will get an eyeful of the embattled golfer in next month’s issue of Vanity Fair.

The revealing cover shot and a set of photos inside the magazine of the stripped-down golfer working out — including one of him hanging from a bar — show off his body as never before.

They were taken by acclaimed celebrity photographer Annie Liebovitz in January, 2006, long before his reputation was wrecked by the stream of allegations that the father-of-two cheated on his wife Elin Nordegren with as many as a dozen women.

But they still show the golfer in a very different light to the genial gentleman of the greens he was known as before the scandal. The portfolio is part of a session snapped by Ms Liebowitz to show off the golf champion’s buffed-up body and his keep-fit regimen.

Under the headline ‘Tiger in the Rough’, Woods is seen in one photograph inside wearing the same wool cap as on the cover but with his bare back turned to the camera. In another shot, he is seen naked from the chest up and staring menacingly. A third photo shows him doing sit-ups.

The magazine says the pictures capture Woods ‘in prophetic isolation’.

Vanity Fair said the ‘raw, unguarded’ pictures were part of the photographer’s archive and that she approached the magazine with them after the cheating scandal broke.

The accompanying article includes interviews with some of the sports reporters who covered Woods for years to find out how he kept his philandering secret for so long.

Kisses in the hot tub…

Her last relationship ended in tears — and five years of probation for her ex Chris Brown. But ten months on it seems Rihanna has found happiness once again, after falling for baseball hunk Matt Kemp.

The singer is currently enjoying a new year break with the 25-year-old LA Dodgers star in Mexico. The new couple have been spotted cavorting in a hot tub, kissing and embracing as they relax together.

And with Kemp’s hands placed possessively on Rihanna’s behind, it seems they are getting along well.

The first rumours about the pair were sparked after Kemp joined her in Dubai, where the Umbrella singer was performing on New Year’s eve. A source told website Hollywoodlife: ‘Rihanna and Matt are starting to get serious – he even followed her to Dubai for New Year’s. Rihanna likes him because he’s such a gentleman… and super sexy!’

Chubby Housewives: Slim Teri Hatcher dons a fat suit

She’s been criticised in the past for being stick-thin, but now now Teri Hatcher has a different kind of weight problem to deal with.

In the latest series of Desperate Housewives the actress has gone from one weight extreme to another by piling on the pounds.

But thankfully the slender star was just wearing a fat suit to film a ‘what if’ flash-forward scene set 20 years in the future on Wisteria Lane.

In her flash-forward scene, Teri, who plays ditsy Susan Mayer, considers what would have happened if she’d stayed with her first husband Karl.

She sees herself as unhappy and overweight after venting her rage at his infidelity through comfort eating, before she tries to seduce second husband Mike Delfino, played by James Denton.

Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale soak up the sun as they join a host of stars in St Barts

Gwen Stefani and husband Gavin Rossdale have been ringing in the New Year in style as they enjoy a luxury break in St Barts with their two sons.

The low-key couple, who are both musicians, blended in with fellow holidaymakers as they soaked up the sun on the Caribbean Island.

Gwen, dressed in a tiny black bikini top, baggy trousers and flip-flops gazed adoringly at her husband as they walked hand in hand through the Gustavia harbour .

The pair later treated their two sons, 3-year-old Kingston and 15-month-old Zuma to a boat ride. The Stefani/Rossdale clan flew to the Caribbean last week after spending Christmas in the UK.
