Flexxing with: Shaggy
LAST Saturday’s staging of the Shaggy and Friends I Dare You Concert — a fund-raiser in aid of the Bustamante Hospital for Children –was hugely successful.
However, there is more to Shaggy than his philanthropic endeavours. Recently, the talented artiste collaborated with Tessanne Chin on a single called Never Let Me Go, and the duet is nothing short of incredible.
“I don’t really choose who I want to collaborate with, but when I wrote the song I knew the vocals needed a melodic singer. Because I know Tessanne’s vocals, I figured she would be right for it,” he expressed.
This song is a teaser of what is to be expected of the artiste in the near future. His last album, Intoxication, did pretty well, capturing the underground market overseas. There are major things in the works, including a new video which will see him joining forces with comedians Ity and Fancy Cat and artiste Black-Er — definitely something that we look forward to seeing.
“I’ve proven and done all I can do in hardcore dancehall. I’ve silenced my nay-sayers and at the end of the day, I bring out young and old people, so I’ve accomplished all I can where the mainstream is concerned,” said the artiste.
He further expressed that he had more work to do internationally, but is trying to find a home — a recording label that sees eye to eye with him — to do business with him on his terms.
