My days are always long and hectic between managing my boutique in the daytime and my martini bar at night. My BlackBerry is a must-have to keep me somewhat organised when I head out… and keeps me in touch with suppliers, clients and, more importantly, my family.

I travel quite a bit, so for hitting the pavement in the shopping districts I’m never without a funky pair of shoes to jazz up my jeans and tee, which I often wear during the daytime. My Macbook to check on my Farmville animals (lol).

I also need a great cocktail dress, for as you know, a host needs to make an impression (dress by DVF; YSL perfume Parisienne)… and for those nights when all I want to do is curl up and go to sleep, a glass of South African Pinotage does the trick or tamarind martini, depending on my mood.

I believe the best luxury item to have is solitude: being able to just relax, if even for a few hours, to get yourself centred and in touch with God through prayer.
