Coke Zero takes over Facebook, Twitter
BEVERAGE giants Coke Zero is taking over social networking web sites Facebook and Twitter with an online campaign that’s set to break the mould in the use of the two powerful mediums, to push the company’s January 16 concert, which boasts international recording megastar Sean Kingston as the feature performer.
The Jamaican native, who released his sophomore album Tomorrow last year, is joined on the line-up by an impressive galaxy of local stars including Etana, Alaine, D’Angel, Chino, Elephant Man, Ding Dong, Tessanne Chin, QQ, and more. Coca Cola Country Manager Chris Hardy says that the event’s online presence is going “to go haad”.
“These websites, Facebook and Twitter, have massive populations and a great deal of their members fall right in our target market. So, we’re going for it. YouTube, Facebook, Twitter… everywhere,” Hardy explained.
While not giving too much details of the campaign about to kick into high gear, Hardy said that users of the social networking websites can expect to be “tastefully engulfed in Coke Zero’s limitless energy.”
He said that more than ever before, all the information about the concert will be available and at the fingertips of persons “with just a few clicks of the mouse”.
“Especially on Facebook, our event page and fan pages are booming, and the team is uploading content at warp speed. Persons can go and check out the articles, the videos, artiste drops, and especially, they can learn the Coke Zero dance if they can’t make it to the rehearsals,” he remarked.
The dance, which was announced last week, is the event’s attempt to redefine what Jamaicans know as ‘complete entertainment package’, and Wisynco’s PR, Events, and Sponsorship Manager Kimberly Lawson says that “people are coming to the concert to have fun, and we think that we found the perfect way to make them do just that!”.
Lawson said that because of the response to the idea of the choreographed dance move, dance rehearsals have had to be increased, and starting on January 4, dance rehearsals will be held everyday at 5:00pm at the Limelight Club.
“From January 4 right up to the day of the concert, we’ll be having dance rehearsals for the public to attend. We have also uploaded a video of the dance to our internet properties so we can reach the persons who want to take part in the dance” Lawson said.
With feature performances from platinum-selling, dancehall-flavoured international artiste Sean Kingston, alongside Elephant Man, D’Angel, Chino, Laden, Demarco, the Coke Zero concert is set to take place on the grounds of the Lime Golf Academy on Saturday January 16. Tickets are available at any branch of Mothers or Burger King restaurants, and may be collected by redeeming three Coke Zero labels and $100.
