Jordan: One of Tulsa’s top 10 college athlete of decade
IN only four seasons at the University of Tulsa in Oklahoma, Jamaican seven-footer Jerome Jordan has been named as one of their top 10 college athletes of the decade by Tulsa World Sports Staff.
A senior at Tulsa and in his last year in the NCAA, Jordan was adjudged the eighth best college athlete for Tulsa in the 2000-2009 period.
“TU’s all-time career blocks leader. He was a first-team Conference USA pick last season and was named to the league’s all-defensive team the last two seasons,” noted Tulsa World.
Meanwhile Jordan and his Golden Hurricanes, 9-3 so far this season, will entertain the Colorado Buffaloes (8-4) this afternoon at 3:30 at the Reynolds Center.
The Hurricanes will have their work cut this season as all nine victories took place at home and their lost to Nebraska last week Wednesday have put them off the radar.
So the 23-year-old Jordan, an NBA first-round pick, and his Tulsa teammates will have come to solid in conference play and likely win the post-season tournament to qualify for the Big Dance, or the NCAA Basketball Championships which normally takes place in March.
Tulsa have evolved into a blocked shot machine with 84 this season, led by Jordan, while Ben Uzoh and Justin Hurtt, as ususal, will have to lead the attack.
Jordan is averaging 14.1 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 1.2 assists this season.
