Non stop excitement at Ragashanti’s Mix Up and Blenda
Patrons turned out in their thousands at Ragashanti’s Mix Up and Blenda comedy package which took place on Christmas Day at the National Arena.
Assisted by the Fab 5 band who kept the proceedings on a musical high, the entertainment package consistently kept patrons on the edge of their seats.
Patrons howled, screamed, clapped and blew whistles in delight to the onstage antics of host Kingsley ‘Ragashanti’ Stewart and his side kick, Pretty Boy Floyd.
Cameo appearances from comedians Gunther and Lemon as well as dancehall artistes Mr Vegas and Beenie Man added fuel to an already raging musical furnace.
The Mandingo talent competition saw deejays and singers battling for a cash prize of $50,000. This was quite entertaining for the most part, as the patrons determined the outcome of the competition.
The excitement rose to fever pitch with the “bax dung” segment and later the daggering competition. Competitors — large and small, slim and fat — daggered away to win cash and prizes.
The kissing competition saw four couples lip locking for several minutes as the crowd erupted in wild abandonment.
According to Ragashanti, “Mix up and Blenda is about comedy, laughter, the fusion of dancehall and humour. It is the ingenious Jamaican culture that many people are not proud of, but we are here enjoying it to the fullest.”
Sponsors for Mix Up and Blenda included the Wisynco Group, Mandingo, Taboo, Rum Bar Rum, Grace Blends and Grace Porridge.
