Kudos to JUTC driver
Dear Editor,
I would like to commend the heroism of the JUTC bus driver Annette Howard who helped passengers in the ill-fated AA plane to safety. She deserves not only local recognition, but also international recognition. Annette Howard’s courage and service show that the goodness of the Jamaican people is not dead.
Amid all the crime, perversion, and sheer silliness which appear to exemplify the Jamaican society at the close of a decade, Ms Howard’s bravery tells me that the true spirit of Jamaica is still alive as we enter 2010.
I am also impressed by the fact that she was completing her assigned route to and from Port Royal at the time of the plane crash. I sincerely hope that the JUTC will recognise her integrity in being at the right place at the right time and her excellence in responding promptly, without being asked to help in the rescue effort.
