“KIDS ALL WRAPPED UP IN CHRISTMAS TREAT”
Hilton Kingston, (December 22, 2009) – Over 200 children from the Hilton K.I.D.S Kindness In Donation and Services Charity program were recently feted in the Grande Independence Ballroom at the Hilton Kingston. Dressed in bright yellow t- shirts, the children was treated to a funtastic day that included activities such as face painting, music, games, bounce- about and slides. All the children who attended the treat receive a special gift and a visit from Santa Claus. Held annually, the KIDS Christmas treat has become a significant feature of the Hilton KIDS Charity program.Frank Rosheuvel, General Manager, Hilton Kingston and his team, has recently started a KIDS Toy drive for the patients at the Bustamante Hospital for Children. The Public is being invited to bring in a new or used unwrapped toy to the Hilton Kingston’s KIDS office from now to December 28, 2009. Said Rosheuvel, “Christmas is a time of giving back to others, and as such, we hope that this effort will inspire the general public to donate a toy and help to make the Holiday season, a little more special for a hospitalized child at the Bustamante Children Hospital”
The K.I.D.S –Kindness in Donations and Services –Charity program, is a unique initiative dedicated to helping children on the islands where Hilton Caribbean resorts are located. The main focus of the Hilton Kingston’s K.I.D.S Charity program is to raise funds for early childhood education for children ages 3 to 6. Since 2001, the Hilton Kingston has hosted a number of fundraising initiatives, including a annual golf tournament, Cultural and food festival, a K.I.D.S comedy showcase, art exhibition, a telethon and has managed to raised JA $ 43 Milion dollars since its inception. Over five beneficiaries have received funding from the KIDS Charity program; KIDS Clarendon, St. Alban’s KIDS Basic School, the Ruby Madden KIDS Basic School, the St. Tekle Haimanot KIDS Basic School, the Ruby Madden KIDS Basic School and the St. Paul’s Basic School (adopted).
