Let there be peace
Dear Editor,
As we move on into a new year, let’s leave the horrible acts of gun violence behind. We need not repeat what has caused so much heartache and pain. This holiday season, and going forward, let’s find common ground and move on together as a country of civilised and caring individuals who need not inflict grief and death on others because of our differences. Let’s use common sense and agree to settle our differences in a mature and reasonable manner. This may sound strange to many, but senseless and brutal acts are destroying the lives of not only the victim, but the lives of the one who pulls the trigger.
We are sick and tired of burying our loved ones! We could go on and on, but it would only be repeating what has already been said. Stop the gun violence There is no remote control to be used once the trigger has been pulled. There is no going back! It cannot be undone. This is not the Wild West! It’s past time to stop the nonsense and start using common sense!
It’s past time that all law-abiding citizens become involved in what’s happening in their community, and say “enough is enough”. Excuses for not getting involved in taking back your community has not saved anyone’s life. If you know who has an “illegal gun” (family member or friend) say something. Need I say more?
We wish you peace, blessings and a future free of gun violence.
