Flow gets celebrities playing Basketball
IT was a night of fun and excitement as sporting personalities, entertainers and media representatives, took to the courts of the National Indoor Sports Centre on December 12, 2009.
The various personalities were separated into two teams with sporting personalities such as Kevin Lamey, Fabian Davis, Jermaine Gonzalez forming the Jamaica Basketball Association (JABA) All Stars while entertainer’s such as Aidonia, Craigy Dread, Voice Mail and D-major made up the celebrity team.
The match got off to a rather exciting start and it took many mistakes and over a minute to get the first basket courtesy of Fabian Davis and the JABA all stars.
The celebrities took a while to get into the game and when they did it took a brilliant play from Craigy dread and Kevin of voicemail to get them off the mark. The introduction of Kevin Lamey for the JABA all stars soon paid off as he and Jermaine Gonzalez scored basket after basket with the help of former NBA player and president of JABA Ajani Williams. The Celebrities then revealed their secret weapon Aidonia, who provided the much needed assistance to Kevin and Craigy Dread.
The match was getting more and more exciting as the players made mistake after mistake and the indoor centre came alive whenever a player created a rare moment of brilliance.
Throughout all this, the teams were being cheered by other celebrities and media personalities. Amelia ‘Milk’ Sewell and the all girl group TNT cheered on the JABA all stars while Candace Buchanan, Raine Seville and ZJ Elektra sided with the celebrities.
At the end of the game JABA all stars was able to hold off a gallant fight from the celebrities by winning 31-27 with Jermaine Gonzalez being voted MVP. He was presented with a computer courtesy of Flow to be donated to any charity of his choice.
