H’View, W’House draw in U-21 League
OVERALL leaders Harbour View and second-round front-runners Waterhouse played to a 2-2 draw in the feature JFF Under-21 League match at Harbour View on Friday.
Helton Thompson and Roneil Cole were the scorers for the home team, while Darren Mattocks and De Andre Brown got the goals for the visiting Waterhouse team.
In other games, Tivoli turned back Arnett Gardens 3-1, Boys’ Town stunned Portmore United 1-0; St George’s were 2-0 winners against August Town; Rivoli and Village drew 1-1, while the Clarendon derby between Humble Lions and Sporting Central Academy ended goalless.
At the Edward Seaga Complex, Dave Kelly netted a brace for the home team in their win over arch-rivals Arnett Gardens.
Kelly put Tivoli infront with a header after six minutes, but Kurt Richards replied for the ‘Junglists’ with a header in the 25th minute.
The Tivoli frontman who is in coach Lenworth Hyde’s plans for this weekend’s Premier League match, restored Tivoli’s advantage in the 76th minute, slotting home a cross from eight yards.
Michael Spence gave Tivoli the insurance goal three minutes from time, scoring from close-range after the Arnett defence failed to clear a free-kick.
At Fedie Neita Park, visiting Boys’ Town took all three points, courtesy of captain Kemar Watson 74th-minute penalty.
At Lynch Park, St George’s eased past August Town with a brace from former National Under-20 striker Romeo Parkes.
At Prison Oval, Ryan Wellington netted a 41st-minute goal to cancel out Chevar Campbell’s 25th minute strike for Village United.
Harbour still lead the overall standings with 32 points, but Tivoli close the gap to two, while Portmore dropped seven points off the lead. Waterhouse stay fourth with 24, followed by Arnett on 22.
Meanwhile, Waterhouse head the second-round table with 10 points, followed by Tivoli with nine, St George’s eight, Portmore United, Harbour View and Boys’ Town with seven each.
