C’Hall, Granville in KO semi-final clash
MONTEGO BAY, St James — Western Confederation Super League clubs Catherine Hall and Granville United will meet at the UDC field this afternoon in the first semi-final of the St James FA Captain’s Bakery and Grill Knock-out competition.
This is the first time this season that both teams will be meeting after their first-round Super League game was postponed and set for early January.
On form, however, the game should be evenly contested between two well-balanced teams who will be seeking a place in the final set for December 23 at Jarrett Park.
Two points separate them in mid-tables in the Super League after five games played. Catherine Hall are on eight points, while Granville, who have scored more goals, 10 to seven, are two points behind.
Meanwhile, Seba United eased past Abes, 4-0, on Tuesday to set up a meeting with Senior League side Fogo United in the other semi-final set for tomorrow afternoon.
Ajohn Barker in the 20th minute and Wilfred Smith in the 27th gave Seba United a 2-0 lead at half-time, while Kemar James in the 47th and Torrey Samuels in the 52nd added two more in the second half.
Meanwhile, Montego Bay Boys Club and Rose Mount Gardens were both winners in the St James FA Steve Bucknor Knock-Out contest.
On Tuesday, Jermaine Woolery scored twice in the second half for Montego Bay Boys Club in their 2-0 win over Upsetters at Albion, while yesterday, Rose Mount Gardens blanked Seaview, 3-0.
After playing nearly 90 minutes without scoring yesterday, Rose Mount git all three goals in extra time from Akief Brown, Javier Parks and Nicholas Campbell.
Today, Defenders and Mafrl Road will meet at West Green, starting at 3:00 pm.
