Beyond the fringe
With a sweeping fringe covering her eyes, singer Beyoncé looked as if she wanted to be alone.
Seen leaving New York nightspot Butter, the 28-year-old superstar cut an almost coy figure as she hid beneath her poker-straight hairdo.
But her new style was contradicted by a tiny leather-trimmed bodycon dress that revealed plenty of flesh. She walked out ahead of husband Jay-Z, 40, who brought up the rear in a laidback hip-hop styled outfit of denims, trainers and leather jacket.
Clearly he was feeling the cold a little bit more than his diva wife who left her jacket off her shoulders for the walk to their waiting car.
The pair, who have been married for over a year and a half, attended the album release party for singer Robin Thicke at Manhattan nightspot Butter.
Jay-Z — real name Shawn Carter — recently celebrated his 40th birthday in the Dominican Republic. The Grammy-nominated singer planned a star-studded surprise party for her hubby and invited 50 of his closest pals, including Diddy, Kate Hudson, A-Rod, Kanye West and Alicia Keys to the bash held at the Casa de Campo resort.
The party, which had a 1940s theme, included a fireworks show and two dance floors.
At the party, Jay-Z and Keys sang an impromptu version of their hit song Empire State Of Mind and West gave a toast to his friend, the birthday boy.

Youthful Madonna turns back the clock to her Like A Prayer days
Madonna turned the New York premiere of Nine into a family affair last night as she arrived with daughter Lourdes.
The film may have been set in the Sixties, but Madonna was clearly going for an Eighties look as she turned up in a figure-hugging outfit strongly reminiscent of her Like A Prayer look.
The 51-year-old singer looked nearly as young as she did during the 1989 video as she stepped out in a lace D&G bustier dress, long gloves and silver crucifix.
Her 13-year-old daughter was also going for the Eighties look in a Dolce & Gabbana fringed skirt, biker gloves, leather jacket, Doc Marten boots and several beaded necklaces.

David Beckham spends some quality time with his three boys
If your father’s an international sports star, trying to snatch a moment of quality time together can probably be tricky.
So it’s no wonder the Beckham boys looked over the moon to be hanging out with their dad David in the Californian sunshine Sunday.
While mum Victoria was making her way back to London from a business trip to Paris, the three brothers made the most of a boys’ day out with their famous father.
