Obama has plan to boost US economy
WASHINGTON, USA – PRESIDENT Barack Obama is setting out fresh plans to reinvigorate the US economy, focusing on incentives to small businesses and hiring to bring down the country’s 10 per cent unemployment rate.
Senior administration officials say Obama will be looking to push money left over from
the Troubled Asset Relief Programmes toward the small business community for hiring. Additional funds also would be sought for infrastructure improvements and rebates to consumers who make their homes more energy efficient.
The officials spoke yesterday shortly before Obama was to detail his plans in a speech
at the Brookings Institution think tank.
