Mayor’s Charity Ball this Saturday
The annual Mayor’s Charity Ball, the premier social event of St Mary, will be held on Saturday on the Venetian Terrace of the luxurious Beaches Boscobel Resort and Golf Club.
The ball was first held in December of 2003 when former Mayor, Robert Montague and Beaches Boscobel sought to raise funds to purchase much needed equipment at the St Mary Infirmary. The funds from the initial ball materialised in two industrial washing machines for the infirmary as well as a number of children treats across the parish.
Since the inaugural ball the event has been held every year and the St Mary Infirmary as well as youth clubs, schools and others in unfortunate circumstances have benefited greatly from the funds raised.
This year will be no different, last year the funds raised was used to partially erect a recreational hall for the residents of the St Mary Infirmary. This year it is the intention of the organizers to raise enough funds to complete the building in order to make the residents more comfortable.
The patrons over the years have also looked forward to the event as they too while giving have some delights of their own.
Cocktails begin at 6:30pm and dinner will be served between 7:00 and 9:00 pm.
Patrons will be entertained by Wayne Armond and the Warm & Easy Band.
