Hilarity at the Hilton on Boxing Day with the Ity & Fancy Cat show!
Lasting levity and loud, limitless laughter will resound in the Hilton Kingston Hotel’s Grand Ballroom on Saturday December 26, 2009, as ‘Christmas Comedy Cook-up’ presents Ity & Fancy Cat Show Live.
The overwhelmingly popular weekly television project ‘Ity & Fancy Cat show’ has been receiving rave reviews, and confirms the position of TVJ as leaders in top quality local programming. The irreverent, innovative style and provocatively original content, as well as some of the popular performers from the show will be central features of this sixth staging of Ellis International’s annual Boxing Day comedy spectacular.
Lovers of comedy can expect another high calibre presentation from the colourful line-up which includes Ity & Fancy Cat, Miss Kitty, Lemon, Michael Abrahams, Rozah Roze, and Kathy Grant; with special guests Donna Hadad from Trinidad & Tobago and Trevor Eastmond from Barbados.
The production will combine recorded footage, live stand-up comedy, skits and musical parodies in one exceptionally hilarious and innovative show conceptualised and directed by Blakka Ellis.
All the performers on the show with the exception of the fluffy diva, popular radio personality Miss Kitty, will be remembered by viewers for their performances on the television show. Michael Abrahams, Rozah Roze, and Kathy Grant have made repeat appearances in various skits and parodies, and Lemon is one of several stand-up comics who appeared on the ‘big stand’ feature.
Hadad and Eastmond, outstanding comics from the Caricom region will round off the line-up as special guests. For Donna Hadad, nothing is taboo, and she dishes up the positives and negatives of life in a steady monologue on a wide range of topics: sex, politics, relationships, over-inflated egos, poverty, and money. She has an inimitable and sexy comedic style that she uses to surprise and thrill her audiences. Having created uproars on her last visit to Jamaica, Donna is looking forward to what will undoubtedly be a riotous return.
Gravel-voiced veteran Trevor Eastmond is not only the top comedian in Barbados, he’s also one the most experienced and consistently funny comedic acts in the Caribbean. His style is simple, strong and stirringly successful. Eastmond invariably limps to centre stage, immediately captures attention, and with slow deliberate articulation and impeccable comic timing, deliver consistent flows of rib busting jokes and commentaries.
Doors open for Christmas Comedy Cook-up at 6:00 pm pm Showtime 7:30pm.
