Broader, Hilaire!
Dear Editor,
In response to Hilaire Sobers’ lengthy letter in the December 6 Sunday Observer, I have some questions. When, if ever, has Mr Sobers been so vehemently critical of any issues involving women, children, the elderly and the poor? Had the story been a report about an attack on a woman or a child, would he have spent so much time and energy to vent his emotions?
Mr Sobers, you are a talented intellectual with much to contribute to social development. Please invest sufficiently in yourself so that your intellectual and personal horizons may one day expand beyond your affinity for all things Vasciannie and homosexual. I pray that the scope of your human rights interests may also broaden to embrace the cause of women, children, the elderly and the poor.
