Dollars and Sense contestants, viewers winning big
Princess Royal from Portmore, St Catherine was announced as the October month winner of the one year of free grocery in the exciting million dollar show, Dollars and Sense. She won her big prize by texting the most times for the month.
She is now on top of the world as she will be receiving one year of free groceries from Hilo’s Barbican branch in Kingston. “I was very happy when I got the call that I won. I read about it in the Observer and used up to $300 credit texting per day,” she said.
Each month the person with the most text votes for the month will win one year of free groceries. Persons can enter by texting their name to the number 444- 2498.
Meanwhile the third round, the knock out stage of Game One of the Dollars and Sense show took centre stage last Tuesday which saw all the contestants failing to advance to the final round.
With Nadine, Chris and Jackie on the D Deck from the second round, Jackie and Chris were voted back in while Nadine dropped out after having the least votes. Nadine, however, received a consolation prize of $10, 000 courtesy of the competition’s main sponsor JMMB.
Burchell came in with a helpline which allowed him to use the Internet for any questions he had difficulty with.
In his third question which had a value of $400, 000, he was guilty of being too hasty in answering. However Burchell still came up big on the night and walked away with $150, 000, the most money earned by the contestants in the first game.
Jackie started well by answering her first question correctly, but stumbled on the second. Chris could not get out of the ‘starting blocks’ and answered his first question incorrectly. He received a consolation prize of $25, 000 courtesy of sponsor, the Jamaica Observer.
The competition heats up next week with Game two which promises to be even more exciting.
