Pulse’s Sedene scores 10 pages of Italian Vogue
Pulse’s newest addition to its roster of international models, Sedene Blake, completed her first major editorial for Italian Vogue Friday. The 10 page, single girl story, the first job for the model, is a major accomplishment for the teenager who is enjoying a remarkable start to a career that is barely two weeks old.
The chronology of events leading to this booking of the young model’s first job reads like a dream. Blake is signed to New York Models on Monday, does polaroids on Tuesday, is photographed for her first test on Wednesday and is placed on option the Thursday. By the Friday, the famed photographer Greg Lotus is impressed by Sedene’s stunning features and confirms her for the beauty spread.
According to Pulse’s GM, Romae Gordon who introduced Sedene to the international market, “this is an astonishing beginning for any model and we’re delighted for Sedene.”
Blake’s start can be compared favourably with that of Pulse star Nadine Wllis. Willis booked French Vogue and the lead role in a worldwide Gucci campaign within 2 weeks of entering the international market. Blake has booked Italian Vogue, Teen Vogue, Pop and Interview within her first week. Sedene had New York’s finest agencies including New York Models, Wilhelmina, Click, Major & Women watching her with interest. New York Models eventually won out, based on the remarkable job that they have done with Pulse supermodel Jeneil Williams.
New York Model’s agency director, Cory Bautista, who is directly handling Sedene’s bookings, is in constant consultation with Pulse, which has the responsibility to manage the requests for the model, whose only travel outside of Jamaica prior to her agency visits took her to Disney World as a child.
These developments are life altering and Bautista believes Blake has all the right attributes for success. Thrilled with Blake’s success, he says “we are delighted for Sedene and we know that this is the start of a very promising career.”
Sedene will be represented in Milan by D’ Management, Paris by Nathalie’s with details now being finalised for her London placement. These agencies have been carefully selected on the basis of their ability to give Sedene the kind of attention that will make her a worldwide supermodel.
In addition to the featured editorials for Italian Vogue, Interview, Pop, and Teen Vogue magazines, which she has already shot, Blake is also holding options for Calvin Klein and multiple options for several other editions of Vogue.
She joins agency colleague, Caribbean Model Search alum and hot supermodel of the moment Jeneil Williams, whose career is also under the management of New York Models in the American market.
