My Kingston
Paul Scott (PB Scott)
Chairman/ CEO Musson Group
What are your earliest
memories of Kingston?
I remember going to Lime Cay when I was very young on my grandfather’s sailboat Lady Milly.
What do you miss when you are not in Kingston?
My friends and family.
What are your favourite home comforts?
Family.
What would you do if you were mayor (of Kingston) for a day?
I think the mayor, Desmond McKenzie, is impressive. I would ask him to come in and run the city and I would then try and work out how to bottle his enthusiasm and “get up and go”.
Share with us the title of the last book you read.
My Life with Tiny by Richard Hall. It’s a book about Tiny Rowland and Lonrho.
What’s your middle name?
Barnaby
And the last bit of music that stirred your soul?
The Dixie Chicks’ Not Ready To Make Nice.
What was your last bit of retail therapy?
I don’t really like shopping, but I usually buy stuff for the kids.
Which cologne are you currently splashing?
None
What is your preferred beverage?
Rum and ginger, but I am trying to make it water.
What has been your most memorable meal in Kingston?
I miss Mac’s Chop House. I’ve enjoyed many meals there. I also like Gloria’s.
What upsets you?
Our lack of progress in Jamaica on so many fronts. Paralysis by analysis. Too much talk! And not enough action! Bigots and people throwing garbage out of cars, that makes me really mad.
What are your current projects?
We always have many at work, but personally I’m setting up a sailing school. I think that will add value and also be a lot of fun.
What’s your advice to a first-time visitor to Kingston?
Go to Lime Cay in the morning and then take a trip up the mountains for dinner. Enjoy the contrast.
What’s your philosophy?
I have too many on different things. But I would like to be seen as kind, fair and honest.
