Forbes, Anderson hand W’House points

A goal in each half from Kenardo Forbes and Jermaine Anderson garnered gave Waterhouse a 2-0 win over Village United in their Digicel Premier League game at Drews Avenue on Wednesday.
In a game Waterhouse should have won more convincingly, Forbes put them ahead before the game was 10 minutes old, and Anderson secured the points with 29 minutes remaining.
However, after this early flourish it was a comedy of errors which saw several half chances going amiss, which left coach Geoffrey Maxwell dissatisfied with his players against a Village team that looked rudderless with coach Cassman Williams not on the bench.
“A victory is always a good result to build team moral, but I’m very disappointed they way they played. We should have scored between three and five goals…,” Maxwell lamented.
Both teams began in an industrious manner with Waterhouse looking the more purposeful with Jonathan Williams and Forbes threatening the visitors defence.
However Troy Smith, Orlando McBean, Andre Moore and Ladale Richie managed to smother any real threat to the Village defence, while Jeff Pearce in midfield and Maricio Gordon and Ronique Frances kept the Waterhouse defenders alert.
Village who themselves were not idle also went forward purposefully on the Waterhouse goal but were caught in a counter attack swoop when the whip-like but effervescent Jonathan Williams picked up a ball close to the centre flag just inside his own half and worked his way forward.
He then found an unmarked Forbes with a deft angled pass which the Waterhouse captain then collected, picked his spot and beat goalkeeper Kemar Llewellyn to his left to put his team ahead.
Maxwell needed fresher legs and Anderson replaced the hard-running Williams after 60 minutes and the change proved to be a good move as 11 minutes later Anderson shot through the legs of Kemar Llewellyn to seal the three points for the former two-time champions after been set free by Kevin Lamey inside the Village final third.
