COCAA cross-country champs on today
DARLISTON, Westmoreland – The County of Cornwall Athletics Association (COCAA) cross-country championships will be staged this morning at Maud McLeod High in Darliston, Westmoreland starting at 9:00 am.
The event will return after a four-year break and will see four categories being contested – Boys Under-19 and Under-15 and Girls Under-19 and Under-15.
This event will mark the start of the high school track and field season in western Jamaica.
The Under-19 boys will run a distance of six Kilometres, the Under-19 girls and Under-15 boys will run four kilos, while the Under-15 girls will run three Kilos.
Rudy Robinson, a vice-president of COCAA told the Observer yesterday that 12 schools had confirmed their participation in the event with another five expected to register before the start of the race today.
