He has a ‘set’ time
ISAIAH 29:8: “This is what the Lord says. I will answer your prayers because I have a set time when I will help by coming to save you. I have chosen you to take my promise of hope to other nations. You will rebuild the country from its ruins, then people will come and settle there.” Does it seem that we have been continually praying but are faced with what may look like delayed response to our prayers? Don’t give up. Continue in fervent prayer, God is still sovereign; He has a “set” time which in reflection is the “perfect” time!
Sometimes God moves suddenly but usually He prepares us for changes according to His plans for us. God usually starts by loosening our grip on the things we think are our security, such as our jobs, homes and relationships that we believe are long-term. Then He will give us a passion to pursue other fresh interests and without realising it our old comfort zones will have loosened their grip, enabling God to lead us to His perfect will for our lives.
This period of waiting gives us a great opportunity to heal our past so it cannot pollute our future, to develop our character, strengthen our faith and expand our knowledge of God our Father. When the “set” time comes we will not only be prepared but we will appreciate God’s perfect timing! One thing is certain, when we allow God to work out His plan on His schedule, we get only His best. This sometimes means that we will have to deafen our ears to the advice of even well-intentioned friends, but the end results are always worth it!
Eternal Father, we as a nation resolve to trust You, knowing that Your set time is the perfect time. We thank You for choosing us to take Your promise of hope not only for us, but to also share with other nations and so be a prototype of righteousness. We will continue to wait upon You with joy, expectancy and gladness.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
