Digicel launches Christmas in style
Digicel entertained thousands of onlookers and the rest of its customers in TV and radio land in the city’s capital, on Friday morning, when they launched their highly anticipated Christmas offer – ‘It’s a Digicel Christmas with great deals’.
Mandela Park in Half-Way-Tree came to life with the melodies from the Steel Bird Band, St George’s High School Choir, DJ Nicholas’ gospel selections, Christmas jingles from the Digicel Rising Stars and popular lyrics from reggae performers such as Ding Dong and Elephant Man.
“Digicel is known for doing things bigger and better, and hosting an early morning treat for our customers was the perfect way to launch Digicel’s Christmas to our customers,” commented Wayne Miller, head of marketing at Digicel.
The launch event, which was broadcast live on TVJ, CVM, RJR 94FM, FAME FM and HITZ 93FM, was hosted by popular radio personality, Miss Kitty, who enticed the audience with exciting giveaways courtesy of Digicel. Miller noted that: “This was not just a launch of another one of our exciting promotions; it was about giving back value to our customers. We knew our customers would appreciate an early morning concert and as expected, customers and onlookers poured out in large numbers to support us – it was a success”.
‘It’s a Digicel Christmas with great deals’ promotion has offers for all Digicel customers – both pre and post-paid. Pre-paid customers get a trendy messenger bag and J$1,200 worth of call credit with any cellphone purchase under $4,500 or an MP4 player and J$1,200 worth of call credit with any cellphone purchase over $4,500. Post-paid customers get a free high-end handset ranging from Samsung E2210, Sony Ericsson W302, Nokia E63 and Blackberry Curve 8900 with their purchase of any Digicel post-paid plan.
To top off Digicel’s Christmas offer, both pre-paid and post-paid customers are automatically entered into a weekly draw to win a Sony Home Theatre System over the promotional period of November 20 through January 2, 2010.
