KC football stalwarts get-together
IN an effort to start a fund to assist needy students of their alma mater, members of Kingston College’s victorious Manning Cup football teams of 1964 and 1965 will host a get-together tomorrow at Curphey Place in Kingston, starting at 7 o’clock.
The KC old boys, including former Jamaica footballers Neville Oxford, the first Jamaican to be offered a professional contract to play in Brazi; Trevor “Jumpy” Harris, Lloyd McLean and Leslie Lucas, along with Franklyn “Bowla” Morant, Mickey Vernon, Baldwin Fisher, Dennis Johnson, among others will share their experiences with supporters and well-wishers.
The get-together precedes the KC old boys annual reunion dinner at the Hilton Kingston hotel on Saturday, which will be addressed by former West Indies cricketer and past West Indies Board president, Rev Wes Hall.
