Downs, Hillstars make winning starts in Confed
Hillstars FC defeated Leeds FC 2-1 last Sunday at the St Elizabeth Technical High School playing field as action continued in the South Central Confederation Super League competition which kicked off a week ago.
In other games, Downs clipped Tafari Lions 1-0 at the Downs Community Centre; Woodhall drew 1-1 with Tru Juice at Turners Oval, while Newlands and Bodles drew 0-0 at Newlands.
Although the competition which started on November 7 is still without a sponsor, 12 teams representing four parishes are participating.
The teams are Meadows, Naggo Head, Newlands, Bodles, and Tru-Juice from St Catherine; Woodhall, Original Hazard and Monymusk from Clarendon; Downs and Hillstars from Manchester, and Tafari Lions and Leeds United from St Elizabeth.

The competition will continue this weekend with Original Hazard versus Tafari Lions at Wembly; Woodhall versus Downs at Turners Oval, and Monymusk versus Bodles at Monymusk this Saturday.
All games are scheduled to be played at 3:00 pm.
On Sunday, Tru-Juice will entertain Naggo Head at Bybrook Oval in Bogwalk; Hillstars meet Newlands at Cobbla Community Centre, and Meadows play Leeds at Albion.
