Math festival for Half-Way-Tree Primary
On June 23 starting 9:00am, Half Way Tree Primary will host a Math Festival for parents, teachers and students in grades one to six consisting of mathematical activities, games, Math talk, and prizes.
It will cover a wide variety of mathematical topics, including abstract problem-solving techniques like symmetry, transformation as well as content ranging from arithmetic to algebra.
There are Math challenges for everyone, and adults and students alike will have a chance to accumulate points, and redeem them for prizes.
The idea is to get student exposed to the idea that Math is relevant and applies in many everyday situations.
