‘Butch’ Stewart to honour Observer awardees
Chairman of the Jamaica Observer Gordon ‘Butch’ Stewart will on Wednesday, December 19, 2007 honour seven journalists of the Observer newspaper who won awards for outstanding work in Jamaica during 2007.
Stewart will recognise the awardees at the second annual “Lunch With the Chairman” hosted by Observer executive editor – operations, Desmond Allen at the Terra Nova Hotel, St Andrew.
The seven awardees to be honoured are: Michael Gordon, Bryan Cummings, Kimone Thompson and Kayon Raynor who received Press Association of Jamaica awards; Ingrid Brown and Taneisha Lewis who took Pan American Health Organisation (PAHO) awards in health journalism and Brandon Allwood, president of the Observer Teenage Club, who copped the Prime Minister’s Youth Award for Excellence in Journalism.
