WBA finals Sunday… if weather holds
Montego Bay, St James
The Western Basketball Association has set Sunday as the tentative date for the finals of the Trojan Condoms/Pharmaton President’s Cup Knock Out competition between Granville Jaguars and Hoopers.
The game was set for last weekend at the Montego Bay Cricket Club, but had to be postponed because of the rainy weather that has been affecting the island.
If the weather holds and the game goes on as scheduled, Granville Jaguars, the Division Two champions, will be hoping to extend their good run and upset the Men’s Championships semi-finalists.
Granville knocked out defending champions Rainbow Storms in the previous round while Hoopers rallied from a narrow loss in the first game of the two-way semi-finals to blow away Inner-city Avalanche to advance to the finals.
Hoopers’ defence was stifling in the second leg semi-finals against Avalanche and they must at least come close to that level again Sunday if they are to stop a balanced Granville attack.
