GG, wife on 10-day visit to Canada
GOVERNOR-GENERAL Professor Kenneth Hall and Mrs Hall left the island for Canada on Saturday for a 10-day visit, where they will take part in a number of activities organised by Jamaican organisations.
During the visit they will attend the annual banquet and awards gala of the Jamaican (Ottawa) Community Association. The event will recognise persons of Jamaican heritage who have contributed to Canada’s development.
They will also participate in the annual Teacher Education Scholarship Awards and launch of the Mico College Alumni Education Foundation in Toronto. Professor Hall will deliver the main address and launch the Foundation.
During his absence, Canon Weeville Gordon, custos of Kingston, will serve as deputy governor-general.
