Girl, 15, boyfriend held for uncle’s death
WATER WORKS, Westmoreland – A-15 year-old female student, along with her boyfriend and another man were taken into custody Friday in connection with the fatal chopping of her uncle in Westmoreland the night before.
Dead is 52-year-old labourer Roy Senior of Goldsmith in the Water Works area of the parish.
Reports are that about 6:00 am Friday, the teenage girl alerted family members to her uncle’s bloody room and a trail of blood leading from the room to the back of the house.
A search was launched and Senior’s body was found with multiple stab wounds in a banana field about three chains from his two -bedroom dwelling.
The murder weapon was also found close to the body.
Acting on information, investigators said they later found bloody clothing reportedly belonging to the teenager and her boyfriend – who is also said to be her cousin – in a pit latrine at a nearby house.
According to the police, the teenage girl was evicted from Senior’s house on Thursday at the height of a family dispute.
Following investigations into the incident, the duo was detained.
