Hanover man electrocuted
MOUNT PEACE, Hanover – Eustace “Mass U” Brown, 32, was electrocuted at his Q-Top home in Mount Peace, Hanover this week.
His partially burned body, which was in an advanced stage of decomposition, was discovered by his brother, Junior Brown, at 8:00 am on Thursday. He was lying on his back, clad in a pair of blue jeans and black shirt, with his feet hanging just outside the door of his one-room apartment.
Junior had reportedly gone to the house after the family was informed by his deceased brother’s friend, Barrington Hill, that he had not seen Brown in a number of days.
Hill told the Observer that he had become particularly concerned after smelling a foul odour emanating from the premises while on his way to his farm.
Foul play was initially suspected. However investigations by the Hanover police later revealed that the body had burns, while an illegal connection to the Jamaica Public Service main across the road showed signs of having burned. The conclusion was that the 32 year-old man had been electrocuted.
Meanwhile, the deceased was removed by the Doyley’s Funeral Home to the Noel Holmes Hospital for examination as his mother, Carmeta Brown, wept bitterly at the sight of his remains.
