Jamalco honours long-serving employees
Halse Hall, Clarendon – Jamalco has awarded some 35 employees, who have served the company for between 10 to 35 years, for their years of service to the organisation.
Addressing the ‘Milestone’ Awards ceremony, human resources and industrial relations administrator at Jamalco, Rhena Gregory, said her company wanted to show appreciation to its employees for their devoted service to the organisation, adding that the awards function was an indication of the value the company placed on its workers.
Dr Aggrey Irons, the guest speaker, told the awardees that they were to expect the best in the years to come.
“Your future is ahead of you. Never mind that you have served for 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, whatever number of years, the best is yet to come,” he said.
He encouraged the awardees to continue to conceive ideas, believe that these ideas could become a reality and success would follow.
The awardees received plaques of recognition and gift certificates for household items, appliances and for travel.
The company has been hosting Milestone Awards ceremonies since 1994 to recognise its long-service employees. This year’s ceremony was held on January 29, at the Jamalco Great House in Halse Hall, Clarendon.
