For the children
The funds available for this year’s Montego Bay mayor’s Christmas treat increased by $50,000 last Friday when businesswoman Catherine Marzouca handed over a cheque to the city’s mayor, Councillor Noel Donaldson.
The presentation was made in the chambers of the St James Parish Council.
The mayor’s office and the council organise the treat every year, as they try to brighten the holiday season for children in and around the city of Montego Bay. Food, entertainment and gifts are normally provided through the kind sponsorship of the local business community.
Approximately 1,500 children are expected to be feted at this year’s treat, which will be held at Jarrett Park on December 17.
