Body found on school compound
WESTERN BUREAU — The bullet-riddled body of 28 year-old Krishna Taylor, of Green Pond, St James was yesterday found lying in a pool of blood on the Cornwall College compound in the parish.
Cops said Taylor was wanted in connection with two murders.
Residents reportedly heard explosions in the Cornwall College area at about 9:00 pm on Monday, and alerted the police. But it was not until about 7:00 am yesterday that passers-by stumbled upon the body, which was clad in a pair of jeans pants and a shirt. The body was later removed to the morgue for a post-mortem examination.
Peter Salkey, the parish’s Constabulary Communication Network (CCN) liaison officer told the Observer that Taylor was wanted in connection with the shooting deaths of Paul Downes, a resident of Rose Heights, and Lester Gunn of Green Pond.
Downes was killed on October 14, while Gunn was reportedly murdered nearly three weeks ago.
Salkey said Taylor was also wanted for questioning in connection with another shooting in the Farm Heights area on October 31.
The police, the CCN officer said, have theorised that Taylor’s death was gang-related.
