Boy, two men face courts for Negril resort robbery/ murder
SAVANNA-LA-MAR, Westmoreland — Two adult males and a 13 year-old boy, who have been charged in connection with last month’s murder/robbery at a Negril guesthouse, are to return to the Savanna-la-mar Resident Magistrate’s Court on October 21.
Colin Gordon, 28, along with 32 year-old Bryan Pringle and the teenager, were remanded in custody when the matter came up for mention Tuesday.
They were arrested last month after intensive investigations by the Negril police, into the September 18 fatal shooting of a gardener employed to Falcon Cottages in Negril.
According to police reports, a group of men attacked and wounded a security guard who was on duty at the resort; then shot and killed gardener Robert Legg during the robbery of about seven guests.
The two men and the teen have been charged with murder, robbery and conspiracy. The young boy, who will turn 14 in November, was first identified as an 18 year-old but his mother told the court, Tuesday, that he was born in November 1989.
The teen, according to his mother, had been pulled out of school because of the high levels of violence at the educational institution.
“He used to go to school in Negril but me mek him ease off, because too much war deh at the school. So me tell him fi ease off a the school,” the boy’s mother told the court.
In the meantime, the police have released the name of a fourth man, Carlton Smith, who they said is wanted in connection with the incident.
