Three charged with murder, robbery at Negril guest house
THREE men were yesterday charged by the police with the September 18 shooting death of Robert Legg, 28, during a robbery at Falcon Cottages in Negril, Westmoreland. Six tourists were robbed and a security guard injured in the incident.
Charged with murder, robbery and conspiracy are:
* Collin Gordon, 28;
* Bryan Pringle, 32; and
* Germaine Sinclair, 18, all of Negril.
The police said five men who were armed with guns and machetes went to the Negril property, at about 4:00 am on September 18, kicked open doors to several rooms occupied by guest whom they robbed of an undetermined sum of money and a number of credit cards.
Legg, who was employed as a gardener at the property, went to investigate and was shot by one of the robbers. He was taken to the Savanna-la-Mar Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Following intensive investigations by the Negril police, the three men were charged and are scheduled to appear in the Savanna-la-Mar Resident Magistrate’s Court tomorrow.
