Another woman murdered in St Ann
MONEAGUE, St Ann — For the second time in four days, residents of St Ann woke up to the news of the discovery of the body of a murdered woman, when 31 year-old Jennifer Boreland was found with her head bashed in on Thursday morning.
Otherwise called Bev, she lived at Barrett Hall, Moneague in the parish. At about 8:15 am, passers-by discovered her body along a passageway at Fong’s Plaza in Ocho Rios, and notified the police.
The unemployed woman’s body was found, partially nude, lying on its back with feet spread apart and knees bent back towards the chest. There appeared to be a fracture — caused by a blunt instrument — to her face. The police say that a bloodstained stone which was found near the body is suspected to be the murder weapon.
Boreland was pronounced dead by Doctor Patrick Wheattle of the St Ann’s Bay hospital and the body was removed to Brown’s funeral parlour to await post mortem.
A large crowd gathered at the scene after the news of the discovery spread, with several persons gaping at the dead woman’s nude body until it was removed at about 11 o’clock.
The discovery of Boreland’s body followed Monday’s discovery of the body of 23 year-old Lisa-Gay Gordon of Exchange, whose body was found near Moneague.
The police subsequently charged Gordon’s boyfriend, Kenroy Gaubault, with her murder.
Meanwhile, despite numerous claims by members of the public that the bodies of two female teenagers were discovered Monday at Llandovery in St Ann, the police have denied the report.
“This has not been confirmed,” CCN officer at the St Ann’s Bay police, Courtney Johnson, told the Observer on Thursday.
