Four men killed in separate incidents
THREE men were shot dead in separate incidents in Clarendon and Kingston between Friday evening and yesterday afternoon, while a fourth was killed by police in what they said was a firefight.
Police named the dead men as:
* Patrick Dyke, also called Junior, of Sea-Air District in Manchester;
* Augustus Morrison, 54, of St Joseph Road, Kintyre;
* Sean Daley, 29, of East Queen Street, Kingston; and
* Derrick Goffe, 36, of no fixed address.
Dyke, a 43 year-old building contractor, was shot by gunmen in Sunny Acres, May Pen, Clarendon Friday at about 7:15 pm. He was shot at his gate shortly after arriving home.
Morrison was gunned down at his home Friday at about 11:45 pm by a group of men armed with handguns and high-powered rifles. Police said the men kicked open his door and demanded to see his son. When they did not find him, they shot Morrison.
Daley’s killing occurred at about 12:10 pm yesterday on Gold Street, downtown Kingston. He was shot in the back by two men.
Goffe, also known as “Basketman”, was killed by the police at approximately 5:45 am yesterday in Canaan Heights, Clarendon.
Police said Goffe and another man opened fire on a police patrol before he was shot.
