Two dead, three injured in car crash
WESTERN BUREAU — A two-car collision along the Long Bay main road in St James early yesterday killed two men, and left three others seriously injured.
The deceased are 27-year-old Damian Brown of Tucker, St James and Felix Dawkins, 40, of Race Course District in Trelawny.
The number of traffic fatalities in the parish now moves to five since the start of the year.
At about 2:45 am yesterday, Brown was driving a white station wagon motor car registered 0384 DS, toward Montego Bay, when it collided with a white Toyota Corolla sedan that was heading toward Falmouth.
The Corolla, registered 8724 DS, was being driven by Dusane Wilkie, 24, of Perth Town in Trelawny.
He is among the three persons that have been admitted to hospital in serious condition. The other two, as well as the deceased Dawkins, were all passengers in his car.
The police’s information officer for St James, Constable Peter Salkey said yesterday that the driver of the station wagon lost control of his vehicle, and ran head-on into the Corolla.
The collision saw the two vehicles severely damaged. Their occupants were later taken to hospital where the two men were pronounced dead, while the others were admitted in serious condition.
