JLP selects three more candidates for St Elizabeth
THREE more parish council candidates were on Sunday chosen to represent the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) in North West St Elizabeth for the upcoming local government elections.
In the selection for the Lacovia division, sitting councillor Broderick Wright, triumphed over former councillor, Winston Lewis by 21 votes to 17.
Newcomer, Radcliffe Jamieson, polled eleven votes in the exercise which took place at the Lacovia High School.
At the Springfield All Age School, incumbent councillor, Ernest Hendricks, triumphed over Junior Bromfield, to retain the candidacy for the Newmarket division which he has held since 1998.
In Siloah, there were three nominees for the position, as the incumbent JLP caretaker, Dave Dunkley has resigned.
In the end, Kenroy Johns triumphed with 19 votes, over Neville Rowe, who gained 12, and Paris Wedderburn, who gained three.
