Black River police seize 80 kilos of ganja
THE Black River Police on Monday confiscated more than 80 kilos of ganja during a raid on a house at Bethsalem in north- east St Elizabeth.
Detective Sergeant Dawes of the Black River CIB said that at about 1:00 pm, he led a police party to the premises where they allegedly found 10 packages of cured, compressed ganja, weighing approximately 80 kilos.
Dawes noted that the drug was packaged in waterproof plastic, as though for export.
The police, he said, also found a plastic feed bag containing more three pounds of dried ganja.
No arrest was made as there was no one at the house when the raid was carried out.
