Clarendon bus driver found dead
THE body of a bus driver, Bruce Carter, 26, who was held up by gunmen on Wednesday was found yesterday in Vernamfield, Clarendon with gunshot wounds to the head and the hands bound.
Carter resided at Palmers Cross in the parish.
The police reported that at about 5:00 pm Wednesday, three men boarded Carter’s mini-bus in May Pen. “On reaching Four Paths, the men reportedly asked him to drive onto a side road in the community. While the driver was complying with the request, the conductor was pushed from the bus,” said a report from the Constabulary Communication Network (CCN).
Carter’s body, the CCN said, was found at about 8:00 yesterday. The vehicle was found burnt out a short distance away.
The body was removed to the morgue for post-mortem.
