Two killed in separate incidents
Police in Kingston and St Catherine are investigating two separate murders which took place on Friday.
In Kingston, Lloyd Murphy, 52, who worked as a salesman at Jamaica Beverages, was shot dead by a gunman at Victoria Street in the Kingston 16 area.
According to the police, at about 10:30 on Friday morning, Murphy drove an Isuzu motor truck registered 8673 to premises at Victoria Street to make a delivery, when he was approached by a man armed with a gun. The man shot Murphy in the abdomen, before escaping. Murphy was taken to the Kingston Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
In the St Catherine incident, Lloyd Grey, a 32 year-old shopkeeper from White Marl, Central Village, was shot and killed at about eight o’clock Friday night.
The police said that residents at Robinson Road in Windsor Heights, Central Village were alerted to the incident when they heard gunfire in the area. They notified the police.
The police found Grey’s body slumped over the steering wheel of a white Nissan Sunny motor car, registered 6288 DE. Grey had gunshot wounds to the neck, mouth, shoulder and head.
No motive has been established for either murder.
