THE owner of a legal firearm was shot and injured Saturday night but he managed to shoot at least one of his two attackers, who later turned up at the Mandeville Hospital where he died.
The dead man was identified as Bryan Robinson, 26, of Grey Ground district in Manchester.
The police have withheld the name of the licensed firearm holder, but said he was driving along the Winston Jones Highway when two men in a white Toyota Corolla motorcar signalled him to pull over.
Instead of stopping the man drive into the Russell Place housing scheme. The men in the Corolla followed and come out of their car with guns. They demanded money and the keys to the man’s car.
When the man refused, the police said, his attackers fired. He returned the fire and the attackers ran.
The man who was grazed on his head reported the incident to the Williamsfield Police Station and was taken to the Mandeville Hospital where he was treated and released.
Robinson later turned up at the hospital with a gunshot wound to the head and died while undergoing treatment. He was identified as one of the two attackers.
