Taking a spiritual ‘journey’ with Nicole Sharpe
NICOLE Sharpe is a woman on a mission: she has a desire to take God’s message of inner healing to everyone she meets.
Sharpe has just released her debut album, Journey, which she says reveals her relationship with Jesus Christ.
“Worship ministry has been crucial to my spiritual growth,” says Sharpe who has been singing since age three. She grew up singing with choirs, playing the piano and writing songs.
At age 12, Sharpe wrote her first song. Her early choral work and years tickling the ivories has paid off. She currently leads the worship ministry at the Swallowfield Chapel in East Kingston.
Nicole is married to John Sharpe, a former keyboard player for the reggae/gospel group Change, which had a relatively successful run in the early 1990s.
John Sharpe is manager of the SharpFlat Productions company which produced Journey.
Prior to recording her own songs, she travelled throughout Jamaica as a background vocalist for gospel artistes including Judy Mowatt and Junior Tucker and has been involved in several ad campaigns.
Among some of her songs are Somebody Needs Jesus Tonight, Teach Me To Hate Sin and Break My Heart.
