Briton dies at sea
The body of a 68 year-old British national was taken from the sea off the coast of Negril, Westmoreland Wednesday afternoon.
He has been identified as Eric Osbourne of Derbyshire, England.
The police reported that at about 1:30 pm, Osbourne was reportedly swimming, when he was suddenly seen motionless. It was subsequently discovered that he was dead. The body was removed to the morgue.
The Negril police who are investigating, are awaiting the result of a post-mortem to determine cause of death.
Mechanic dies in Stony Hill crash
Glenworth Todd, a 46 year-old mechanic of the Boon Hall Housing Scheme in St Andrew died in hospital Wednesday, as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident on the Stony Hill main road in the parish on Tuesday.
The Constabulary Communication Network (CCN) reported yesterday that at about 10:10 pm on Tuesday, Todd was walking along the road when he was hit by a truck, which did not stop. He was taken to the University Hospital where he died at about 4:00 Wednesday morning.
