Anglican Bishop of Montego Bay to be consecrated next Tuesday
THE Anglican Bishop-elect of Montego Bay, Rt Rev Dr Howard Gregory, will be ordained and consecrated in a service to be held in the St James Parish Church on Tuesday, June 11.
The Archbishop of the West Indies, the Most Rev Drexel Gomez will administer the rites.
In attendance will be other bishops of the Church in the Province of the West Indies, among them the host, the Rt Rev Dr Alfred Reid, Bishop of Jamaica and the Cayman Islands. The sermon will be preached by the Rt Rev Don Taylor, Vicar Bishop for New York City.
Dr Gregory, who has served as chairman of the Jamaica Council of Churches and president of the United Theological College of the West Indies, was elected to head the See of Montego Bay at the 132nd Synod of the Church held in April this year.
