Newsroom bites
Newsroom floors, are considered a snacker’s paradise with writers sipping copious mugs of brew and biting into colourful bags of goodies.
At The Jamaica Observer the busiest staff member is office attendant, Miss Cross, who walks the floors at least 20 times a day selling from bun and cheese to the most attractive platters of fruits.
The main snackers are:
Entertainment writer and former editor, Howard Campbell, loves a range of snacks including soft mints. His favourite is plantain chips.
Senior political reporter, Byron Buckley, snacks on a combination of nuts and raisins.
Current affairs editor, Pete Sankey, needs peanuts and a few chunks of bun to get him through his long days.
Crime reporter, TK Whyte, enjoys freshly roasted peanuts and lots of bites of Excelsior cream crackers, which he swears, aids in digestion.
Business editor, Moses Jackson, snacks healthily. For it is all about fruits.
Indi McLymont, staff writer and doting mother, enjoys dried fruits and fresh fruits.
Lyle Evans from the scanning desk is a stickler for cheese nips.
Candace Bailey also from the scanning desk is a real little snacker, munching on Oreo cookies, banana chips, and ice-box cake.
